Kevin concentrates his practice in intellectual property law, with a particular emphasis in patent drafting and prosecution of both utility and design patents in the US and internationally. He provides strategic patent portfolio management for clients in the semiconductor, photonics, mechanical, medical device, and telecommunication industries. His work in this area includes patentability assessment, strategic filing, and coordinated prosecution of worldwide patent applications, including prior art management, examiner interviews, appeals, and other proceedings before the United States Patent Office. He is also experienced in licensing transactions, intellectual property due diligence for technology and licensing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, product launches, and public offerings, including freedom-to-operate, landscape, infringement and validity analysis and opinions. Kevin also counsels clients on developments in the law related to patentable subject matter as it relates to business method patents.

With a background in material science, engineering, manufacturing, and intellectual property law, Kevin is equipped to effectively guide owners, executives, managers, scientists, and engineers through legal issues related to complex technology. Prior to practicing law, Kevin worked as an engineer for a semiconductor equipment manufacturer, where his duties included development and design of vacuum deposition equipment, process development and analysis, and transfer of technology to manufacturing. He also worked as an engineer for a telecommunications device manufacturer, where he was involved in the development of various photonic optical devices and oversaw the production of such devices.
